#एक पत्नी ने अपने गुस्सैल पति से तंग आकर उसे कीलों से भरा एक थैला देते हुए कहा ,"तुम्हें जितनी बार क्रोध आए तुम थैले से एक कील निकाल कर बाड़े में ठोंक देना !" पति अगले दिन जैसे ही क्रोध आया उसने एक कील बाड़े की दीवार पर ठोंक दी। यह प्रक्रिया वह लगातार करते रहे धीरे धीरे उसके समझ में आने लगा कि कील ठोंकने की व्यर्थ मेहनत करने से अच्छा तो अपने क्रोध पर नियंत्रण करना है और क्रमशः कील ठोंकने की उसकी संख्या कम होती गई। एक दिन ऐसा भी आया कि पति दिन में एक भी कील नहीं ठोंका । उसने खुशी खुशी यह बात अपने पतत्नी को बताया। वे बहुत प्रसन्न हुई और कही, "जिस दिन तुम्हें लगे कि तुम एक बार भी क्रोधित नहीं हुए ठोंकी हुई कीलों में से एक कील निकाल लेना।" पति ऐसा ही करने लगा। एक दिन ऐसा भी आया कि बाड़े में एक भी कील नहीं बची। उसने खुशी खुशी यह बात अपने पत्नि को बताई। पत्नि ने उस पति  को बाड़े में लेकर गयी और कीलों के छेद दिखाते हुए पूछि, "क्या तुम ये छेद भर सकते हो?" पति कहा, "नहीं ,, पत्नि ने उसके कन्धे पर हाथ रखते हुए कहा,"अब समझे क्रोध में तुम्हारे द्वारा...
